What makes your style stand out?

My style is subtle, yet fleetingly loud. I am a professor of art & design history, but I rarely wear only black. Since childhood, I prefer solid patterning, lately I have been experimenting with multiple patterns. I pair comfort with form. In my teens & 20s I would wear shapes and ironic elderly fashions mixed with Canadian designers I promoted & sold, now many of those style choices seem frumpish and so I am in searching-mode as I head into my mid-life exploratory phase.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

My dream fashion moment finding a golden nugget in a second hand shop. There used to be a shop in Port Credit Ontario Twice is Nice, I was sold a Jean Paul Gaultier Nautical sweater for $20. When I reminded the owner who he was, she said she wanted to share highend fashion moments with those who might not be able to afford his works. This was a sweater I swear I saw on display in the Museum in Paris. I would also love to have my own boutique! Creating gold-rush moments for others.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use it to travel to Australia, the UK, Ireland and Scotland to track down my ancestry story. After donating some to local homelessness advocates. (A bit about my pics: a small collection from childhood to now with a couple from my 20s & 30s fyi: I no longer smoke & I've lived a sober lifestyle since I was 22 : ) ) some pics are by my dear friend Ana Čop https://www.facebook.com/AnaCop.artist from 2007, & by Judy Derlachter (if you're ever in Montreal follow on instagram @tripleb.mtl)
