Founder of Latina Leaders, educator & artist, empowering Latinas to embrace cultura, connection & authentic style through fashion.
We would like to thank you for supporting Jennifer Cortez in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
When putting a look together, I see myself as a canvas, every detail matters. From the outfit to the hair and makeup, each element is part of the full expression. I stay true to myself, dressing for my body in a way that feels empowering, comfortable, and authentically me. I don’t chase trends, I create looks that reflect who I am. With a formal education in Fashion Business and professional experience in the industry, I bring both creative vision and business insight to every look I create.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment would be walking in a major runway show as I do not fit the traditional model mold and represent a group of women that have been told they can never become runway models. Representing Latinas under 5'5" who are showing up, leading and inspiring others, uplifting community, giving back, and are Latina CEOs, this one’s for you.
What would you do with $20,000?
I would invest in an initiative that creates opportunities for growth within underrepresented communities, while also launching a revolutionary sustainable fashion project that will solve a problem, further empowering women. In addition, I’m deeply committed to environmental sustainability, so a portion of the funds would be donated to organizations focused on ocean clean-up, tree conservation, wildlife protection, and environmental justice.
