It’s in my nature. From sewing at the age of 6, majoring in fashion merchandising to now heading visuals at Macys.
We would like to thank you for supporting Ayanna mckie in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
I draw inspiration from streetwear, which I feel is apart of my culture being African American. It’s full of history, rebellion, pride and innovation. I enjoy mixing streetwear with luxury brands, giving off a sense of bold purpose and narrative.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
Walking the runway in a luxury designer, that shows off my heritage. Sunset setting on a rooftop, touches of gold and jewelry that was passed down to me. It would be special because it’s rooted in my culture.
What would you do with $20,000?
Give back to the people who have supported me in my fashion career. The church, my family and some close friends who have been with me.
