Arlow Noel Plunket

Style & dress has always been a way that us queers & marginalized folks have signaled to one another WHO WE ARE; it's our spiritual armor.

What makes your style stand out?

My style stands out because it tells the story of who exactly I AM. I wear black and have gauges in my ears as homage to the alternative subculture that found me and saved my life when I was living in a house and culture steeped in hate and assimilation. I wear crystals as protection from evil and natural textures to live in alignment with God, Universe, and Her earth. I shave my head because the androgyny and stripped nakedness represents how I've moved on from hiding who I AM to embracing it.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

I have always dreamed of living in a village of creatives. My dream fashion moment is living intentionally with my soul family, feeling totally free and safe to wear exactly what we want. I see us cloaked in fashions each of us have made and made for each other. I see flowers adorning our crowns, cultural pieces flaunted not hidden, and thousands of patterns all in one space being valued and celebrated.

What would you do with $20,000?

A grant of $20,000 would provide me with enough working capital to pour more into my creative LLC, The Arlow Noel Co! I have plans to move out of the US and build an intentional community/ fashion house in 2027, and this grant would expedite the process. My goal has always been to provide others with the lifestyle and awareness that I needed as a sensitive, neurodivergent child, and this intentional community and atelier would do just that!
