I have a love for Japanese gyaru street fashion and style. I dress to showcase this and my love of art.
We would like to thank you for supporting Winnie Santana in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
My style is uniquely me, I 've always strived to express myself through external means. Over time my style has changed, it's evolved and devolved. It truly is a means of self expression for me. My honest take is that no matter what I'm wearing - it's still me. That said if it's a metal band t shirt one day or a kawaii desu lace top the next - I'm still a fashion Icon. My style is all about energy, in my head I'm already on a runway walking about while I'm also running errands day to day.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
One dream that I've had since I was a pre teen was to model in Tokyo, Japan. I used to watch ANTM Cycle 3 on repeat and I loved everything about it. The go sees to the commercials filmed in Japanese. The entire season just made me feel so inspired, it gave me a peek into a life that I could only dream of.
What would you do with $20,000?
For me $20,000 would go a very long way and I would definitely book a trip to Japan for my first overseas visit. I also I want to create my own brand and use it to help others who like me dare to dream again. I feel that the position that I've found myself in can help inspire others like me who are daring to not limit themselves. The "freaks, the geeks the hopeless romantics" we deserve a chance.
