Small details make the entirety of a good look. Cutting and attaching random fabrics and charms is not only punk, but makes a look whole.
We would like to thank you for supporting Veronica Lesisz in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
Mixing a variety of influences that compliment one another makes my style stand out. I like combining elements from different spaces such as cabaret, punk, circus, and gothic/church architecture. I think the underlying similarities between the four are attention to small details, being crafty and figuring out ways to customize your clothing by yourself, and balancing simplicity with ornaments and elaborate construction.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment is simply recognition. I have always considered fashion to be a hobby. Since I was a child, I would see clothing in stores, think of the perfect way to alter it to make it fit my personal self-expression, draw it out, and customize my clothes. It is always rewarding to receive a compliment on an outfit I styled or personally altered; it is a dream for someone to recognize your efforts.
What would you do with $20,000?
My parents immigrated to Canada from Poland roughly 40 years ago. Knowing the struggles they faced and the dreams they gave up on in order to try and provide as much stability for me as possible is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. My dream in life is to buy them a house, but realistically $20,000 would not be enough for a home, so I would pay off their debts and pay for their monthly rent so they can peacefully retire soon.
