What makes your style stand out?

I elevate dressing to an art form. My inspiration is Matisse - only instead of paints, I use cloth and jewelry and shoes and hats. I know what looks good on my body and I dress it to show off my assets. I don't follow trends. I create my own!

What’s your dream fashion moment?

In some ways, I have achieved it with my book, THE ART OF DRESSING, published by Rizzoli. I also get much satisfaction from teaching my ART OF DRESSING MASTERCLASS in which I use my clothes and accessories to teach the elements of style. Of course, winning this competition would be a dream!

What would you do with $20,000?

First, I would repair all the beautiful antique pieces that I own that have been damaged by my constant wearing - especially as I wear them while riding my bicycle throughout NYC. My father, who was a master tailor and made and repaired my clothes warned me that when he died, I would appreciate him because my bills to tailors and seamstresses would be astronomical. Well, he was right!!!! And good luck finding tailors and seamstresses that still sew by hand! And, invest in a proper closet!
