Tanya Verma

My style is where my Indian heritage meets my American present. It's the story of my family's journey, worn with pride.

What makes your style stand out?

My style stands out because it is guided by imagination. I treat getting dressed as stepping into a role, whether that is the quiet elegance of a heroine in a novel or the bold drama of a character on screen. Each piece becomes part of a narrative so my outfits are never just clothes, they are moods, stories, and small transformations that shift with the day.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

My dream fashion moment would be to bring dance into the runway. I’ve always admired Coco Rocha making history when she performed an Irish dance for Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fall 2007 show, transforming a walk into art. For me, it would be performing Bharatanatyam at a fashion event, blending classical Indian storytelling with couture. It would honor my culture while creating a bold, unforgettable moment in fashion history.

What would you do with $20,000?

Amnesty International shaped a core part of my values when I served as my hometown chapter president, so I’d donate to support their mission. I’d also take my mom on a shopping spree. She has always been my greatest supporter and my fashion icon, and her styling accounts first sparked my love for fashion. Investing in both human rights and the person who inspired my passion would make the $20,000 truly meaningful.
