What makes your style stand out?

95% of my closet consists of either thrifted vintage or clothes I made myself: dagger collar blazers, art deco novelty prints, prairie dresses and patchwork bellbottoms abound. I truly value fashion that is one of a kind and homegrown, especially given the current state of cheap fast fashion and trend cycles. It not only environmentally harmful, but boring as well! Timeless and high quality pieces will always turn heads, especially when they are made with love and intent to last.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

Being a seamstress, I often fantasize about designing special outfits for my heroes. Having the privilege of seeing the Who on their recent tour had me fantasizing about how I'd style them, though I'm unsure how much they would like me dressing them in ruffles, velvet, and tapestry fabric like it was 1967! The ability to dress any kind person in something I designed, though, would be my dream; I know well the power of dressing well and hope to spread that message as far as I can with each look.

What would you do with $20,000?

Charity obviously jumps to mind, as it would for any soul. The Kurt Vonnegut Museum springs to mind as an institution I'd be honored to support in their promotion of free speech, reading, and cultural awareness. Otherwise, I would save up the money for travel, especially across Europe. I am a writer and student of history, so I crave new experiences to fuel not only my work but my perception of the world and its multitudes.
