What makes your style stand out?

My style introduces me without saying a word. Bold, fierce, classy, and confident. I don’t even have to say a word, the outfit speaks for itself. My style is my identity: my culture, my personality, my essence. But, it’s not out of an arrogant way, but rather self-assured way. It’s my way of saying: “HELLO EVERYONE I’VE ARRIVED” or “THIS IS ME-TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT”. If you love who you are, it will radiate from within you. Confidence is my superpower and I want others to be inspired to shine too!

What’s your dream fashion moment?

Versace Spring 2018 fashion show is one of my all time favorite shows. The ode to Gianni Versace! It would be an absolute dream of mine to attend a Versace fashion show. Just seeing the tribute to Gianni and celebrating his iconic designs was so inspiring. 10s across all boards! In the future, I aspire to model in a Versace campaign. This would be such a validating moment for young East African women who advocate to be represented in the fashion industry. Representation matters!

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000, I would give back to my Tigrayan community: my people in Tigray who need food, shelter, medical supplies, and other necessities that were stripped away from them from genocide. In addition, since I am a young woman in my late 20s, I would like to use a portion of the money towards starting my modeling career, which has been a long time coming. Whether it’s taking professional modeling digitials or traveling to castings, I would love to take the chance to chase my dreams.
