My style is more than just clothing on my body. With afro futuristic & chic pieces, my style becomes power, resistance and transformation.
We would like to thank you for supporting Sabree Gilkes in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
My style stands out because I blend masculinity and femininity with my culture of blackness and queerness. I remove all gender labels from my clothing and never scared to be bright, glittering and extravagant or dark, chic and moody. My name is Icon cause anything I wear I make iconic.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment is to finally see my own brand created and see people rocking my clothing in their own styles. I hope to create community and feelings of freedom and confidence with anything I make.
What would you do with $20,000?
With 20,000 dollars I will finish school and use part of the money as a startup for my brand. Having the resources to research, develop and execute would be the biggest blessing.
