My first school presentation I’d ever made was on the difference between fashion and style. I like bold, loud statement pieces.
We would like to thank you for supporting Ryder Justen-Pratt in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
To make myself stand out, I like getting/creating one-off pieces, I’ll take a pair of beat old Empyres, and do full graffiti on them until they’re unrecognizable. My last piece was an old Bape hoodie I’ve had, I used a lighter and a razor on one side of the hood to try to add some avant-garde grime. I like being a trendsetter, I enjoy seeing other people’s unique style when in the same genre of clothes. I want to show up professionally, but be the one that draws your eye when I’m in the room.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
To appear on stage, and finally be seen. I want to try to turn this opportunity into a pathway for me to get into the fashion industry, since I was a kid I’ve wanted to be a designer. I’ve tried starting my own clothing businesses but haven’t had enough capital to properly market and sustain the company, so I moved paths to high-end vehicle detailing/repairs.
What would you do with $20,000?
I want to contribute as much as I can to my family and open my own storefront business. I currently work in the trades and own an upcoming auto shop. I’d invest into my future, and what-ever money doesn’t go into the business will be going into further education.
