Is the way it allows me to express myself.
We would like to thank you for supporting Romeo Mong in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
I grew up in a conservative town in Central Pennsylvania where most people stick to jeans, boots, and t-shirts, so standing out with my outfits feels even more meaningful. People often ask how I feel comfortable wearing certain things, and my answer is always confidence. It’s not about owning a good closet, it’s about putting together pieces that reflect who I am. Wearing what I want makes me feel good, and it sometimes inspires others to take risks with their own style.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment is tough to pick because I’ve already had experiences that felt so special. Through commercial modeling, I’ve done catalog shoots, been on toy packaging, and modeled for department stores. Even if it’s just a Nike t-shirt or a college sweatshirt, being on set feels amazing. If I had to pick one dream moment, it would be attending a Versace show. I own two Versace pieces that I absolutely cherish and wear often, so being able to see their artistry live would be a dream.
What would you do with $20,000?
I’d give it to my parents. I’m doing okay financially, but they’ve been struggling. They adopted me as a newborn, gave me a home, and always put me first. Growing up wasn’t easy, was scared of how they’d react to me being gay in a very religious household. While they don’t always agree with my choices, they’ve supported me every step of the way. They deserve the absolute best. $20,000 would help them so much, and it would be my way of giving back after everything they’ve done for me.
