As a fine artist, I see style as a living canvas — majestic self-expression that honors heritage and inspires others to embrace authenticity
We would like to thank you for supporting Rashad Ali Muhammad in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
My style mirrors my artwork — clean silhouettes layered with bold, majestic patterns inspired by African and Indigenous roots. Each look becomes wearable art, elevated with my signature beaded necklaces that honor heritage while pushing style forward. I embrace vibrant self-expression and nonconformity, creating a visual language that is both rooted in tradition and unapologetically modern.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment would be building a fashion brand that embodies my style philosophy — clean lines, bold patterns, and cultural storytelling. I envision my work being recognized by major stylists, featured on runways, or worn by icons who inspire others to celebrate individuality. Whether through collaborations or global showcases, I want my fashion to spark conversations about heritage, authenticity, and empowerment.
What would you do with $20,000?
With $20,000, I’d split the investment between home renovations and creating a long-overdue honeymoon for my partner and me. After getting married, our focus shifted to buying a home, so we postponed our real celebration. Half of the funds would help us make our space truly our own, while the other half would finally allow us to travel, recharge, and experience a joyful, meaningful vacation together — a gift of love, renewal, and balance.
