Style for me has been a lifelong passion and friend. It became a way to express my acceptance of me.
We would like to thank you for supporting Preston Mcclenty in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
What makes my fashion stand out is my understanding of where fashion has been. I therefore, know where it’s going. I do appreciate them, but I don’t follow trends. I usually set them, out of a space that is intrinsic to me based off how I understand fashion and aesthetics at a specific space and time and then decide how I desire to be seen in the word based on that. I usually watch the world around me take on some of these personal choices, thus becoming trends.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
A dream for me is to attend a fashion show in Europe and sit front row. I feel that moment alone would help so many other dreams of mine come true. I grew up watching tv specials that fused fashion with rock and roll, so to be able to work with some of those musicians and designers with styling or design is a dream.
What would you do with $20,000?
Right now $20,000 would help cover some practical everyday living expenses for me. But I would mostly use it to build an online shop where I can have available some of the original street wear pieces that I wear and expand into after 5 and also business attire. This would allow me to be able to do what I love for work as well pursue personal aspirations around family.
