Style gives you confidence to compliment the person who dresses super cool. Style breeds individual exploration & self-assurance.
What makes your style stand out?
I think my confidence along with unique pieces, whatever it may be, attracts a lot of eyes. I won best style in my high school because I did not dress like a majority of the other girls, going against the grain. While I do wear more basic pieces occasionally, I have more that stand out that I wear proudly and without fear of judgment. I’m not afraid to be myself and especially in high school, where people ridicule you for being “cringy” or “too out there”, my style and I have never faltered.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
I would love for more flowy/draping fringes to come back in style; whether it be with shirts, skirts, bodycon, or an A-line dress, I think they add fun layers and dimensions to a piece. In general, I love vintage fashion and believe that fashion trends are cycles. So I do believe this will one day be a big fashion moment again. I don’t think we’ll necessarily look like flappers, I think we’ll put our own twist on it with pairing it with modern day boots or jackets; maybe more of a Bohemian look.
What would you do with $20,000?
I would put it towards the budget for my first short film to be made and specifically, investing it in the costumes and make-up for the characters. While I do not have much outsider funding yet, this would really help with that issue. Ultimately, I would put it towards showcasing my taste for fashion and art in film. What ever remaining money I have would be put towards buying my first apartment independently.
