I'm a walking museum Inspired and inspirited by my grandmother and my great grandmother. They both had a style that was unique and timeless.
We would like to thank you for supporting Nitaly in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
I am who I am and I create what I want to see. Ideas don't go unnoticed. Watching my grandmother make clothes for me and herself, I'd see each and every different cuts of fabric come together to make a meticulous masterpiece that I would proudly wear outside to show my friends. We would wear matching dresses that she made to church (growing up in Kenya people dress to the nines when going to church), She taught me how to stay true to myself and how to tie shoelaces too.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
To play the harp in a beautiful dress and sing in both my languages, ascend and see an angel. I don't care who's there. I live to be expressive and even now as I'm sitting here typing this on the floor of the library I know I'm the dream.
What would you do with $20,000?
I would start a non-profit organization to help underprivileged girls and women both in Kenya and Bangladesh get free sanitary towels as well as free hygiene kits for all.
