What makes your style stand out?
My designs blend the authenticity of my two homes. One is my Andean culture, enriched with history and tradition due to its natural process. The other is my current home, a world full of innovation and new trends. My products are 100% hand made individually using cabuya fiber. Each Shigra shows the roots of Ecuador’s indigenous women’s culture blended with the evolving fashion of the modern world.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream is to see ladies enjoy using my shigras and appreciate my Andean culture. I want to show how traditional fashion can be for everyone.
What would you do with $20,000?
Right now I sell in the streets of NYC. I will use the winnings to sell my products in a storefront and continue to invest in the hard working indigenous women of Ecuador who help make the Shigras possible.
