Mikey Sam

As a trans person of color, fashion lets me explore every side of myself—style is freedom, growth, and an invite for others to do the same.

What makes your style stand out?

My style lives at the intersection of timeless and transformative. It’s 60% classic silhouettes—sharp tailoring, clean lines, enduring neutrals—and 40% funvestment pieces that spark joy, curiosity, and conversation. I balance sophistication with spontaneity: a statement coat worn with attitude, a splash of color that turns nostalgia into something new, or a sheer moment that celebrates confidence and self-expression. My wardrobe isn’t about trends—it’s about storytelling.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

Finally stepping into a press tour for a major film—assisting with outfitting, styling, and every transformative outfit change. Being behind the scenes where fashion meets storytelling, helping bring each look to life as the cast embodies their characters off-screen. It’s the ultimate fusion of creativity, precision, and impact—where wardrobe becomes narrative, and every detail tells part of the story.

What would you do with $20,000?

$20,000 isn’t a lot, but with it I’d like to make meaningful impact—funding nonprofits that bring the arts to underserved communities and supporting gender-affirming care for myself. It’s about using what I have to create access, visibility, and belonging—for myself and others who deserve to see their stories reflected in art and opportunity
