I am passionate about style because it’s a form of expression; your wardrobe is you. I am an amateur designer, making clothes from scratch.
What makes your style stand out?
My style stands out because I wear what feels right to me. I don’t chase trends or aim to recreate the outfits of others. I go for non-branded items, and I am not afraid of bolder fabrics; paisley, plaids, and abstract designs, textures. I pair pieces to create outfits which reflect me. I incorporate homemade and self-altered clothing into my outfits to add originality.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment is creating and showcasing a rose-patterned suit. I have searched for the perfect fabrics and notions, and I have recently started stitching it. Head to toe, the suit will be a casual buttoned jacket (not a formal suit) with straight pants. The material is satin-like with roses which will cascade from light pink flowers at the shoulders and end with darker purple/pink blooms at the ankles. It will be beige with the flower accents, metallic embroidery, and gold buttons.
What would you do with $20,000?
With $20,000, I would expand my creative space. I currently design and stitch out of my living room, but I would use this money to grow my passion in a dedicated space. I would also use some of the money to buy a large printer to bring electronic patterns to life. The last touch: I would add an industrial sewing machine to my toolkit.
