What makes your style stand out?

Fashion is how we communicate without language. My style is unique because I love to wear handmade or vintage pieces. My handmade clothes tell a story, about me and my journey to creating. Even if recreating a piece, the memories of making it can be vastly different. With vintage, it holds experiences of the people who wore it before me. Each piece is different in their own way with era and identity changing how memories form. I love wearing clothes that tell a story and connect me to others.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

Creating a custom look for a celebrity that I admire would be a dream come true. I love making cosplay and costumes for myself because it lets me have fun and be a part of fictional worlds. I love how celebrities aren’t afraid of trying different styles and changing their looks to go with their current era. If I could one day create something for a celebrity whether for a photoshoot, music video, or event I would happily retire after.

What would you do with $20,000?

It would be used to fund not only my passion for creativity but the people in the Asian American community as well. I’d finally finish my fashion collection that I’ve been working since 2022 and tells the story of my identity. By helping small APPI businesses to grow and funding artistic programs for kids, I’d be giving back to my community and allow them to thrive even more. I want to support other emerging designers and bring more diversity to the fashion community.
