What makes your style stand out?
I stand out not for my style, but for my positive optimism. I don't have a closet full of designer labels, I enjoy creating my own designs. I grew up in a humble immigrant household and we could not afford the finer things. My mom was a seamstress and that's where I learned my craft, well taught, no formal fashion schooling.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
I've been able to have a couple of my moments, I've had the opportunity to see the McQueen savage beauty exhibit at the met, and just recently, I saw the Dior exhibit in Paris. I had the honor of meeting Bob Mackie, who was such a wonderful man. I would like to meet Christian Siriano, ive attempted to compete on project runway numerous times, and he doesn't shy away from designing for everyday women.Also, not necessarily a fashion moment, but I have been a huge fan of Elton john since the 70s
What would you do with $20,000?
I would love to be able to upgrade my sewing work room, to be able to organize it and get some new machines. I would also love to give back to the Elton John AIDS foundation as well
