What makes your style stand out?
My style is a battlefield trophy. I'm a cultural chameleon, synthesizing neo-punk edge with Armani discipline. I manufactured the "preppy hustler" look by hustling the second-hand stores of PB and queer Hillcrest, channeling the razor-sharp focus of the Mods. My aesthetic, refined by my Japanese wife, is pure alchemy: a cheap linen or royal blue seersucker suit is made expensive with a quick dry clean—because in the dark, no one can tell. What’s your dream fashion moment?
Driven by Kyoto shadow yearning—a quiet tension where aesthetics and dignity overlap. This Victorian moment reveals Japan as the harbor of post-modern bricolage. I'm cloaked in a Miyake bespoke coat of the finest Japanese wool, vintage military structure. Noir night in a classic Kobe bar. Present with style architects and companions, sensibilities honed by shared gaze. Refined ease—a silent, perfect testament to the journey and our ancestors.
What would you do with $20,000?
As a former professor currently under financial siege, I'd deploy funds with a hustler's precision. This underemployed but stylish life is performance art. I'd end my credit card hemorrhaging, maintain my wardrobe from storage, pay my kids' tuition, and finally fix my aging car (which compromises my GQ credibility). The rest buys the necessities: tailored outerwear, shoes, and frames. It’s the infrastructure required to maintain this exquisite façade without ruin.
