I'm an artist 1st & foremost. I use vintage material to upcycle my designs into unique, one of a kind works that would otherwise never exist
What makes your style stand out?
I think what makes my style stand out is my individuality. I believe a person doesn't need to sacrifice comfort for style. Most of my garments are, or can be worn with basic tee shirt and jeans. The feel of a garment, though, affects the feeling you get when you wear it. It's a direct translation. I gravitate to garments that could be unisex. I take them to my studio and rearrange them in a way that combines my own urban-pop-art sensibilities with a little nostalgia and a dose of rock n roll.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment happens every time I fit somebody and see their face light up. The right garment can truly elevate someone's mood. I get a real feeling of a job well done when I someone puts on a piece that I've transformed, and doesn't want to take it off, so they wind up wearing it out the door. I love that.
What would you do with $20,000?
$20K would alleviate a little bit of stress right now to be quite honest. I would mostly use it to pay down my debt, and probably use the rest to get out of dodge for a minute, see another part of the planet I haven't been to yet.
