Personal style is an art form that allows you to display something about yourself to the world without using words. It can be powerful!
We would like to thank you for supporting Mallory Jackson in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
I only buy clothing secondhand either at thrift stores or online shops like Depop or Thredup. It is cheap and environmentally friendly, but it also allows me to source unique, stand out pieces! I love styling the pieces that make you go, “what would I even wear this with?” I see it as a fun challenge and art method. Just like when I create a mixed media painting, styling allows me to mix textures, colors, and patterns in unexpected ways that draw the viewer in. My style is fluid and fun!
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment would be to style celebrities in sustainable fashion. Clothing needs to become circular if we want hope for the future. I would love to work with designer brands to repurpose old pieces into new show stopping outfits. The more we get reputable brands and people styled out in sustainable fashion, the more the rest of the world will follow. I want to be a part of this change in the fashion industry and influence the future for the better.
What would you do with $20,000?
I would pursue my dream of being a full time stylist and artist. This means providing others with access to fashionable, secondhand or repurposed clothing. I would also display and sell my art made from recycled materials to showcase the fact that “trash” can always be turned into something beautiful! We don’t have to continue to feed landfills, but it will take lots of people and passion. That is what my $20k would go to.
