Fashion was never about the nicest clothes or the best brands, it was falling in love, over and over with myself: whatever version that day
We would like to thank you for supporting Livi Lyman in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
Being non-binary the fluidity of my fashion is dependent on my mood, my clothing options, but never the weather. My closet consists of what I find at my local thrift shops or friends clothing swaps. I wear shirts in layers, a skirt over jeans, and accentuate the look with make-up always some freckles of glitter.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
Naomi Campbell fashion show in 1993, where the 9-inch purple heel broke on the runway was a dream fashion moment that has stuck with me. The untouchability of that moment, redefined for me what a moment could be, a moment of chaos or a moment of humanity. I channel this as I forge my way as an artist in the business world, while I teaching artists business skills and curate my own style. I find humanity in the chaos. I will take this walk all the way into the Oval Office.
What would you do with $20,000?
With $20,000 dollars I will invest in my business, HUMANMADE_humboldt. Creating opportunities and accessibility for artists is my lifelong passion, I’ve been able to do it starting from negatives, I can do so much with some money and accessibility in my pocket.
