Fashion, my way of expressing myself without talking, tiny details make up a story waiting to be told, dressing uniquely is a part of me!
What makes your style stand out?
Despite the stares I receive from peers I still go into school pushing the limits of the dress code. Knee high converse, a furry zebra print track suit, and an iconic graphic tee are just a few of the things I have worn to school that get these stares. Good or bad I love it. People take photos with bad intentions but that is my way of knowing I am doing something right. I take lots of inspo from the 80s and 2000s. Bling, studs, leather and lace, denim, you name it I wear it!
What’s your dream fashion moment?
An absolute dream of mine is to pave a way to make it more socially acceptable to dress differently. I want to do this by creating my own affordable brand. It takes some strong guts to go out into a world where people do nothing but judge you based off of looks. I want to encourage people that dressing different is something to embrace. Its what makes you stand out of the crowd.
What would you do with $20,000?
If I had the opportunity to win $20,000 firstly, I would donate to my schools American Sign Language Club, then I would use the rest to kick start my brand. Alternative fashion can be pricey. I want to make fashion something that doesn't have to be a luxury. Everyone deserves a chance to express themselves. Hence why ASL has impacted me. Just like fashion its a silent way of expression. Almost if fashion were a language! The money would go towards ASL shows for the deaf and hard of hearing.
