Style is a topical antidepressant! Every day is an opportunity for a costume. My outsides send subliminal messages to my insides.
What makes your style stand out?
My style is an invitation to connect with me. It's like walking around with a baby, or a dog. We use clothing in all kinds of ways, and everything that we wear is some sort of costume. A costume tells a story about who a character is. With our daily costume, we are telegraphing something about ourselves to the world. Most of the time I'm telegraphing: Hi! Sparkle! Curiosity! Playfulness! Friend?
What’s your dream fashion moment?
To visit the atelier of Alice Temperley, read my writing aloud and share my work with other brilliant woman, enjoy their talents in return, and buy myself a wedding dress.
What would you do with $20,000?
My parents both died this year. (My father, unexpectedly, one month before my mother.) I've moved into my mother's house, where she lived with crippling depression and anxiety. I am determined to transform this place from The Sad House into a place of great joy for myself and others. I'll create the second Community Happiness Project on my front lawn (the first is on my friend Adam's property) so that others can visit, take and leave treasures, write love letters, & connect with neighbors.
