Style is one's exhibition of art; the body is the gallery. Deliberation is fundemental to showing art, so I must dress deliberately.
What makes your style stand out?
I have an eclectic style with pieces from a lot of different places with strong histories. When it comes to harmony in clothing, figuring out how to bring in elements that come from different backgrounds together is a skill that takes practice but pays off in the end when an ensemble looks good. Using neutral colors allows for silhouette and texture to be in the forefront, and building around my shape with a mixture of flowy and boxy pieces provides an accentuation of uniqueness.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment would be to be on the cover of a magazine wearing some experimental clothes from a designer that I know personally. I think having a connection with clothing designers is very important. It feels meaningful to wear something that someone poured their creativity into. Being the person who brings the work to life, using it as a tool to influence others and evoke emotion through art, is something I deeply value.
What would you do with $20,000?
With $20,000, I’d work toward financial freedom from student loans so I can return to Seoul and fully focus on pursuing fashion in a place that truly values it. Seoul has an energy and appreciation for design that constantly inspires me, and being there would allow me to grow and collaborate without the weight of financial stress holding me back, preventing me from fully engaging with the creative and influential sides of fashion that inspire me most.
