I find authenticity in the macabre and avant garde, eschewing social norms in favor of what brings me joy. Fashion is a language unspoken.
What makes your style stand out?
Trends are temporary and style is forever. I aim to make my younger self think I'm the coolest person on earth. My style is antithetical to trends. I wore black floral jeans on the red carpet for a fashion film festival. My style is the style of survival, a street punk renegade with a love of the 60s and vampires who lived while watching so many fall. My style stands out because it's proof I'm still alive and able to accessorize. It also proves you can be disabled AND look cool.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
Shouldn't every moment be that? I strive every day to be what my younger self would have wanted to see, to evolve - show my self love with my style. To prove to myself that my authenticity overrides any outside force and no one who tore up my clothes in gym locker rooms or cruel words didn't break me. I've been stopped in streets from NYC & LA for photos. The real dream is to twirl around in the rose garden of Versailles or get photographed in the Harajuku district.
What would you do with $20,000?
Invest in my design business, see a financial advisor to invest for myself and son, donate to haus of codec for trans youths, and buy myself a (second hand) Chanel boy bag. I deserve one little treat, right? I've survived too much to stop myself from hopping on poshmark for a bargain. I want to donate to foundations for drug abuse rehabilitation and suicide prevention in the names of the friends I lost as a street punk weirdo flipping through fashion magazines in doctors offices.
