Self-expression can mean liberation for those of us who don't fit the mold. It can also be an act of revolution🌈 🌀🕺🏼 🏳️⚧️
What makes your style stand out?
I paint, alter, and upcycle a lot of what I wear. The fact that so many hands went into creating and loving the clothes is magical; a kind of hand-me-down collaboration. My outfits stand out because every component is art, and represents a different aspect my inner reality: silly, abstract, unique, bizarre, and very colorful 🌈
What’s your dream fashion moment?
Seeing my people - queers, gender non-confirming folks, women, neuro-divergents, the differently abled, etc - absolutely smashing it on runway (of life) in clothing that makes them feel entirely aligned with their power.
What would you do with $20,000?
I would love to create a phantasmagoric, upcycled collection for gender non-conforming people of all different body types, inspired by queer and trans performers whose fabulousness and courage made our self-expression possible. Leigh Bowery, Claude Cahun, Gladys Bentley, and Freddie Mercury - just to name a few!
