STYLE IS POLITICAL. It leads to sustainable alternatives, helps w/ understanding different cultures/lives, & where community is created!
What makes your style stand out?
I always say i spend sm of my life creating outfits. It is one of the first things someone notices about me & I LOVE IT!! I wear whatever I want, when I want- no matter if it fits my “aesthetic.” As co-head for a styling team (I love them sm!), I am constantly having to think outside the box, reinventing ways to wear pieces. It is about GETTING WEIRD AND CREATIVE. Fashion is more than the clothes you choose to wear, it is in the active decisions you make everyday.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
Honestly where people stop overbuying, get more creative with the clothes they have, less greedy fashion companies, wearing whatever makes you feel good, diverse fashion runways, giving sweatshop workers the money they are owed, and normalized sustainable practices in the fashion industry.
What would you do with $20,000?
I would donate a majority of it to various orgs! Gofundmes for families in gaza or ones that bring aid to families (look @ PCRF or Gaza soup kitchen) , unhoused outreach groups where i live, protection for queer, POC, & Trans people ( look @ Transgender Law center) . I will save a portion to help pay off some student debt because they keep hassling me!!! People believe that art and fashion are useless in being a stepping stone for social justice- but it’s the way you go about it that counts.
