What makes your style stand out?

I blend Indigenous textiles into my modern style to honor where I come from. Many in the Latine community still look down on our Indigenous roots due to colorism, but I wear mine with pride. Latines are a mix of Indigenous and European ancestry, and I see more people now reconnecting with that. I want little brown girls to see that our roots are beautiful—and that embracing our Indigenous heritage is powerful and worthy.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

My dream fashion moment is to design a bustier made of Maya jade, paired with a black embroidered skirt. Inspired by Selena’s iconic ’90s style, I want to make it my own—rooted in both Latine and Indigenous culture. It’s bold, elegant, and honors my heritage. I know both communities would feel seen and inspired by it.

What would you do with $20,000?

I’ll use the $20,000 to promote my work as an artist, organizer, singer, dancer, actor, and curator, while giving back to the East LA and Boyle Heights community. After building my career, I plan to open an after-school arts program for low-income students. I envision a “school to art school” pipeline so every young artist can pursue a career they love.
