Fashion is full of color, texture, and shape. I get excited about well-made garments, and find joy in the experimental nature of styling.
What makes your style stand out?
My style is true to who I am and what I’m going through in my life. Recently, I’ve been leaning into my background as a ballet dancer, putting the romantic and ethereal styles that are familiar to me in conversation with more masculine, streetwear pieces and aesthetics. I love experimenting with the dichotomy of feminine and masculine, light and dark, mild and sharp (the list goes on). I also adore surrealism and have an affinity for liminal things.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment is to get styled for and attend a show at one of the “Big Four” fashion weeks. I would love to experience the busyness and excitement of a fashion week firsthand, and it would be so special to witness the culmination of the many creative minds and talented hands behind such showings.
What would you do with $20,000?
I’ve been saving for the Master in Fashion Art Direction course operated in partnership with Vogue Italia at Polimoda in Florence, Italy since I visited last October. I want to work in fashion art direction, and have taken this competition as an opportunity to art direct a photoshoot around the outfit I styled. I want to surround myself with people who see the world differently, creating work that is both meaningful and visually compelling. I would put all $20,000 toward the cost of my tuition.
