Having style means having the confidence to show the world who you truly are inside. Style comes from knowing who you are and flaunting it.
We would like to thank you for supporting Kansas Jenkins in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
My style stands out because it is ever changing and personal. I do not follow trends; I find myself "creating" them. My style revolves around color pairings, music, and storytelling. People complement my ability to fit a specific era. Sometimes I am 2015 Coachella-coded, and other times I dress as Twiggy's long lost twin. Overall, I look to historical sub-cultures for outfit inspiration, such as pin-up girls, hippies, and the punk scene. My outfits should challenge societal and political norms.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment is to see Betsey Johnson do a cartwheel on the runway. I admire her bran standing strong in her quirks and continuing to reflect her personality. I dream of meeting her, because I know her presence is all light and love. She is the epitome of inspiration and fun. Generally, the fashion world is very serious. Betsey Johnson brings color and joy to the fashion world. I adore her!
What would you do with $20,000?
Oh yes, money. To be frank, I'd pay off my credit card first. I ran it up during my transition from majoring in radiation therapy to fashion merchandising due to traveling expenses relating to education. Secondly, I would buy my dad a new car. He currently lives in a one car household with my step-family of 4. He's always having car troubles, and I'd want to relieve that stress for him. Then, I'd save the rest and plan my move to a fashion capital after graduating in May 2026.
