I mix masculinity with cuteness, horror, and culture. I don’t chase trends—my closet is my lab, and I make the most of what I own.
We would like to thank you for supporting Jianhong Li in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
My style stands out because it’s a mashup of contrasts—masculinity clashing with cuteness, horror infused with Asian/Chinese culture, layered with the global influences I’ve picked up from living across worlds. I never follow trends; instead, I reinvent what I already have. It’s not about labels, but about expression—every piece I wear carries both raw edge and playful spirit.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment is walking into the Met Gala and redefining what “going big” means. I imagine a look that pushes beyond the limits—bolder than Gaga, more daring than Rihanna, unapologetically myself. The Met is where art, fashion, and drama collide, and I’d want my presence to be unforgettable: not just an outfit, but a performance, a statement, a shockwave.
What would you do with $20,000?
With $20,000, I’d fuel the next wave of fashion dreamers. I’m launching my own PR platform, You Look Terrible Today, to spotlight indie designers who deserve the world’s attention. The prize would go toward helping their collections shine on new stages—and maybe plant the first seeds of my own line. It’s about building a space where fearless, authentic fashion isn’t just seen, but celebrated.
