Style is an art form to me— I take a lot of inspiration from the punk scene while staying true to my southern Appalachian roots.
What makes your style stand out?
Punks are few and far between here in the south. Outside of the hardcore scene, I often get side eyed by strangers in public. In a sea of Simply Southern and Patagonia, enter Jett— a queer gender gremlin with an 8 gauge septum piercing, stick and pokes, JNCO jeans, and Doc Martens.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
It would be awesome to show those in the queer community that fashion doesn’t mean having the most expensive clothes, being skinny, and achieving impossible beauty standards. Self expression doesn’t have a price tag!
What would you do with $20,000?
I would donate to Challenges Inc., a harm reduction coalition in Greenville, SC. They have already saved thousands of lives by providing safe access to syringes, Narcan, and test strips. Everyone’s path to recovery is different, but you have to be alive to get there. Harm reduction saves lives!
