What makes your style stand out?

I have always found silhouette to be the most interesting element of fashion because it is the most accessible. You can sit down a person who has no knowledge of textiles, fiber quality, or construction techniques, and they will still instinctively recognize when a garment fits poorly or looks unremarkable. Shape is immediate. A designer can create a jacket from the finest wool available, but if the cut is uninspired, it will always be seen as just another day coat ready to collect dust.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

My dream fashion moment has always been to attend the Met Gala wearing a design of my own creation. The Met Gala represents the pinnacle of the conversation between fashion, culture, and artistry—an evening when the boundaries of design are pushed, when a single garment can embody an entire vision, and when the world looks to fashion not just as clothing but as a form of storytelling. To attend the Met Gala as a designer wearing my own look, would be a dream come true.

What would you do with $20,000?

If I were awarded $20,000, I would use it to fund my senior capstone collection. I would use this opportunity to fully realize my vision for my collection that celebrates the complexity, strength, and independence of women. This funding would allow me to approach the project with the level of quality, craftsmanship, and storytelling that it deserves, ensuring that each garment contributes to the collection’s larger narrative.
