Jada Burke

Style is like a signature, we all have one; or a snowflake, there are never two identical ones. It's made to reflect yourself.

What makes your style stand out?

I would say I keep up with trends but don't. My curious self enjoys people-watching online and in real life, and their fashion is a significant part of the experience. Obviously, I notice trends and even develop a fondness and desire to replicate. For instance, the fit I wore during NYC fashion week (the picture on my profile with red background) The trendy Spelman blazer from Ralph Lauren boosts the autumn vibe. I paired it with a vibrant floral corset to express my own interpretation.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

I would love to be recognized as "fashion goals" on social media, especially on Pinterest. Sorta like giving back to the community of fashion spectators I am. I would love to imagine my pictures on someone's feed, with or without my handle, and them becoming prideful and joyful. I resemble them in different ways: either by skin tone, facial features, fashion sense, hair texture or body shape. They like or even comment their impressions. Their comments get liked in agreement.

What would you do with $20,000?

Aside from the obvious increase of personal spending, I wouldn't know exactly what I would do with this large sum at once. Therefore, I would seek out professional help on how to spend or invest the money long term. With the help, I will contribute to charities advocating disability/neurodiversity awareness, and mental health for women of color. As an autistic disabled woman who happens to be black, I'm sympathetic to my peers' stories, desiring to improve our wellbeing and exposure.
