Izabella

Our body is a canvas, so we are all artists. From the cuts to the colors. We paint ourselves each day to tell our story. Clothing sings.

What makes your style stand out?

The fire flew up at The Weekend concert and warmed my face with electricity. It lit the old scarf of my grandmother's that I cut and tied into a tube top. The grooved fabric and tassels dropped onto my rib cage like butter. I felt like a bohemian queen with a black sash tied over my head, my mother's old belt from the 80's, and a chain from an old necklace across my belly. This is a snapshot of how I am a risk-taker. I stand out because I am me. I am art. I am a mix of decades and culture.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

My dream fashion moment is would be to launch my own urban clothing line. My brand would be called "Santana Paloma." Ink is my chosen artistic medium, and I also have a tattoo gun. I am obsessed with how people paint their bodies with tattoos like a human story book. I am obsessed with the hum of the streets and the urban vibe. I am obsessed with the beauty in each human and the trends each individual can start. Fashion is merely a mirror of humanity. A delight for the senses.

What would you do with $20,000?

To fun 20,000 fashion ideas and a sustainable clothing brand. I want to do something positive with my life and ideas. I want to use my brand to teach about sustainable clothing production. The new generation must be purposeful about spreading a positive message with regard to fashion and re-purposing. I would love to re-purpose used clothing in a new way to diminish the amount of textiles and unused clothing in landfills. We have to stand for change through creativity.
