My dad taught me a sense of style, and a sense of musical taste as well. He’s the reason I make music and clothes today.
We would like to thank you for supporting Ian Niblack (Nai Kalbin) in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
I use a lot of blankets when I sew because I love the way quilted designs look on functional pieces of clothing. I’ve been told I look like grandma’s couch, which is alright with me because I love my grandmas and their couches are comfortable!
What’s your dream fashion moment?
I’d love to collaborate with Calvin Klein and call it Kalbin Klein, since my artist project/brand is called Nai Kalbin.
What would you do with $20,000?
With $20,000 I could first get myself out of debt, and 2nd figure out exactly how much money to allocate between: investing in fabrics and other sewing materials, and investing in my music career (ad campaigns/promotion, outsourcing, equipment).
