What makes your style stand out?

I don't have a rigid view of what's stylish. On Monday I'm dressed in a Frank Patania bolo tie, Hideki Saito fringe western shirt, and Rocketbuster boots but on Tuesday I'm wearing an Alexander Plokhov fencing jacket, fingerless leather gloves, and Robert Geller wool tank trousers. As outfits they couldn't more different, but I don't believe beauty is a narrow concept.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

Fashion is taking nothing and making it into someone's everything. I am constantly in awe of the people who spend their lives perfecting the artisty of taking bolts of wool and piles of notions and transforming them into the perfect coat. My dream fashion moment would be spending time with the pattern makers of a couturier or bespoke tailor. The perfect shoulder is an alchemy that comes from a lifetime's dedication, so the better I understand this art the more I can truly appreciate what I wear.

What would you do with $20,000?

It may seem odd but I wouldn't buy clothes! I already love my wardrobe and rarely find myself wanting for anything more. Instead I'd spend it learning. I would love to take a pattern making course, I'd love to have the money to purchase an industrial sewing machine and muslin. I have no aspirations to be a designer myself, but the pursuit of personal style has changed my life in innumerable ways. I owe it to myself to dive deeper into every aspect of this passion.
