Style is the force connecting me to the world. It tells a story of my love, romance, passion, growth, grief, rage, injustice, and resistance
What makes your style stand out?
I think my style stands out because it is unique to what inspires me. I like to draw ideas from art across decades and genres. Whether that inspiration be from the gothic themes of Phantom of the Opera or the vibrant energy of Hello Kitty, when something stirs my passion, it finds its way into my style and fashion. I think it's liberating to allow myself to flow freely between different aesthetics and moods as a reflection of what I am feeling and who I am in that moment.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment would involve dance and performance. As a burlesque dancer, I feel the most connected to myself and to art when I am on the stage interacting with the audience. My costume is a part of the story I tell onstage. Naturally, my dream fashion moment would be performing in an elaborate costume of my design that could convey a story to the audience and spark creativity and inspiration in others.
What would you do with $20,000?
I'm a medical student studying to be a doctor, which has been my lifelong dream. With this money, I would have financial security and continue to pursue my studies without fear of not being able to afford the cost of living. I'm also a dancer and choreographer. I love participating in burlesque and drag shows where we raise money for local organizations that provide support to those living with HIV/AIDS and those experiencing domestic violence. I would love to donate to these organizations.
