What makes your style stand out?

Every piece I wear I try to personalize. I often thrift clothes that I can use to create something new, whether it be adding lace or embroidery to the article, or by using the piece as fabric strips to create an entirely unique look. Layering and accessorizing with handmade pieces helps me feel like what I am wearing represents me.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

My dream fashion moment would be seeing something that I’ve made while out in public. Being able to create is a blessing, but seeing my art, in any form, being accepted by people I’ve never met would be life altering. I’ve strived to create wearable pieces that are true to me, and if someone can see that item, and feel it represents them in their unique way, then that would make everything I’ve worked for worth it.

What would you do with $20,000?

$20,000 would do so much for my education. I graduated in May, and since then I’ve been working all that I can to save for college. My dream is to pursue the arts in any way that I can, whether it’s fashion, sculpture, or restorative arts; and I have no doubt winning this competition would help me reach my goal.
