What makes your style stand out?
I am not afraid to wear anything that I please. No matter how outlandish someone might find it, I feel at home and don’t let people’s opinions dictate what I wear. I also have a deep interest in fashion history which informs my style and prevents me from only following trends.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment is to be a costume designer on a film set who not only gets to choose every aspect of the characters outfits, but makes it vital in telling the story. To be able to speak through clothes so vibrantly that the message of the film couldn’t be conveyed without it. Another dream of mine is to learn how to take a fashion design idea from concept to finished product and see someone wear- whether on the runway, for the camera, or on the street…and feel powerful to their core.
What would you do with $20,000?
I would use it towards the fashion school in Rome I’ve been saving for where I’ll learn to become a costume/ fashion designer. Being in that profession will also give me connections to other creative fields that I’m interested in like acting and performing. But most importantly, it will enable me to have enough to give back to my mom for everything she’s done for me. To take her to places she wants to go, dress her in clothes that her own daughter designed, and let her live out her dreams too.
