Minimalism and the colour black embody how I view fashion; while premium materials and clean silhouette set the tone for how I dress.
What makes your style stand out?
Simplicity mixed with shape prominently embodies the ethos of my style, while the lack of colour I wear allows me to experiment with texture. The majority of my clothes are purchased from the thrift store, while my shoes and bags are deeply discounted between 70% - 80% from designers such as The Row, Balenciaga, etc. (I love a good deal)! Oversized and fitted silhouettes are regularly interchanged in my everyday wear, mixing high and low garments, to form a cohesive mix.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment would be to see the internal workings of an atelier. Although fashion events and shows are essential in how they create excitement about the product, I have a profound respect for the individuals who physically create the patterns and designs. Having the opportunity to view how couture, or suits at Savile Row for example are made would be an unforgettable experience, valuable in how it would put into context the skill required to create high-quality garments.
What would you do with $20,000?
$20,000 would allow me to continue creating on a scale larger than I am currently working at. My goal in the next year would be to release products available for purchase, which is a costly and complex endeavour. I would plan to release “essentials” (wool t-shirts, trousers, hats and scarves) later, venturing into products such as jackets and suits. Since the ethos of my creation is based on the quality of materials, much of my expenses can be attributed to the cost of Italian suiting wool.
