What makes your style stand out?

My style stands out because it’s an embodiment of me. When I dress, I think about how I’m currently feeling and imagine how I want to feel. I use clothing and accessories to channel different parts of my personality and moods. I love feeling playful in a unique vintage piece at a formal event, or adding a sophisticated tone to a grocery shopping trip simply because I want to.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

My dream fashion moment for me kind of already happened. When I got married earlier this year, my mother-in-law sewed my wedding dress from scratch. It was so amazing to pick out the exact style and fabric I wanted that felt fashionable and just plain me. I also loved being able to mix my mother's jewelry and jewelry gifted to me from family. I also made a custom veil, sewing colored seed beads onto it to represent my Malawian side. I loved being able to visually show exactly who I was.

What would you do with $20,000?

I'd continue supporting primary school students in Malawi by building an afterschool tutoring centre. This is been something I've been passionate about since I started working with young girls who were missing school due to lack of feminine hygiene products. With just a little more support young girls and boys could continue their studies by providing access to resources, tutors and even something as simple as night time lighting to finish homework and studying for tests.
