What makes your style stand out?

My style stands out because I synthesize elements from multiple subcultures and fashion movements, specifically those that are rooted in rebellion against social norms. That being, punk, lolita fashion, and modern-Avant garde styles. Through bold silhouettes, statement shoulders, and layered textures, my work rejects the need for women to be desirable objects as palatable to men, imagining a universe where women take up space freely.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

My dream fashion moment would be to show a collection at Paris or Milan fashion week. I would love if my biggest inspiration, Rei Kawakubo, would be able to watch my show.

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000, I would invest this money into starting up my fashion business. Currently, I am the only one working on my clothing, doing all the sewing, patternmaking, etc. One of the biggest hurdles for me is financing all the costs that come with creating a brand. That being, funding materials, creating samples to communicate with manufacturers, etc. I believe in fairly paying all people involved with my projects, so the $20,000 would contribute towards that!
