Elaine. Brown

Art is not what you do, it is who you are. Both my parents had flair and smiles! My dad reminded me of Tyrone Powers, my mom, Liz Taylor.

What makes your style stand out?

Being novel. When studying about Pablo Picasso with my third graders, we learned that the brain likes novel things. Picasso was brilliant at “the different” and created the art medium of collage. We are all a collage of sorts. An example of “the novel” in my fashion would be a brooch I wear quite often that combines the elements of both land and sea in a novel manner. It is a golden rose (costume jewelry) with a pearl in the middle of the rose. Was about ten dollars, yet truly gives me joy

What’s your dream fashion moment?

I have always loved old Hollywood’s Stars who wore the sparkly dresses on TV. Ginger from “Gilligan’s Island,” is who I truly wished to be as a four year old. Not so glitzy in my wants now, yet love those beautiful old dresses still. Having a reason to wear a piece of art like that and have a nice dinner would be lovely to say the least!

What would you do with $20,000?

I would continue to live in a simple fashion that I have learned as a homeless person traveling in my “tent, “ a beautiful older Lincoln Town car, serving people by spreading a message of love and hope to many. I want to start a couple of businesses that would help promote the land I love, California, and end homelessness in California.
