When I was a kid, I watched my mother. She was a queen and I watched her dress us as kids. It carried me through adulthood.
What makes your style stand out?
I’m provocative. As a gay man who lived through the AIDs crisis and changing social tides, I have never been afraid to show who I am through my style.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
To show the world that age doesn’t dictate your fashion. If I won this competition, it would be a bright symbol of LGBTQ+ success and brilliance.
What would you do with $20,000?
I would give a portion of it to charity; hopefully a charity for LGBT+ youth. I was a young gay boy in the country and I don’t want the next generation to feel isolated or helpless that way.
